Letting Go

Posted on Feb 28th, 2007 by Em : Raw Yogini Em
My private yoga lesson with a visiting teacher Came to my mat. Sat down, cross legged. Concentrated on my breath. Felt good. My body warming. I set my intention. Started a flow, but was struggling with my chaturangas. I was weak, sinking my chest, but in the air. - then the inevitable 'plonk'. I lay there, collapsed on the ground. I've been working on this for a while and I have good days and bad. Returned to plank, listening my teachers words. Felt different, felt good. Tried again. Went through a sequence of asanas. returned to plank Tears started to roll down my face. I'm dreading what comes next. I cry. I feel crappy. I get it out. Tomorrow is another day.

It is another day

No tears today. physically and mentally stronger. Munched on a banana for brekkie, several pineapple chunks around 2ish then a couple of vine tomatoes later this evening. feeling light inside. cleansed. Got some grapefruits to juice in the morning for brekkie. Have difficult eating grapefruits whole same with oranges, yet I love the juice flowing through my body. Not sure if it's the texture of these round fruits that I'm not to keen on, too chewy maybe. Am going to start experimenting in salad smoothies this weekend. Keep watch!!

Non -Raw Visitor

Posted on Mar 13th, 2007 by Em : Raw Yogini Em
A friend from homw is staying with me at the mo. He's not vegan, not raw, hates mushrooms (WTF)!!! and onions.....I have cooked him veggie meals and he haasn't complained once. When cooking I am not at all tempted by the smells that diffuse round the room as it all smells burned (although its not - my cooking skills are not that bad).

Have been zooming round Tokyo doing the touristy thing with my lunchbox and friend in tow. Strawberries, grapes, blueberries fill my bag. Going thru my fruitarian phase. I adore leafy greens, yet my body and mind just aren't wanting them at the mo.

My friend who I have known for 15 years still lives where we grew up. Goes out on a Fri and Sat to the same haunts (skeletons lurking). Some things stay put. I wish he would venture out more, beyond the security of the drinking buddies. He talks about his life and it is mirroring mine when I was in my 20s. Am I just an old fart!?!?!

I adore him and always will, yet he simply hasn't moved on. Admittedly, hats off to him for travelling to Japan to see me. Not he easiest country to navigate round.

Does he lack dreams, aspirations?
How do people get so stuck?
or am I living in a dream world and not facing reality???

My definition of beautiful is....

Posted on Mar 24th, 2007 by Em : Raw Yogini Em
....my friend Keiko.

I first met a year ago. She was a student at the school I taught at. Upon our firt meeting I was struck (as is everyone who meets her) by her looks. A natural beauty with long, long dark hair that always shines (have never seen her have a bad hair day). Minimal make-up and a warm smile.

But she radiates internal beauty too. She is funny, caring, inspirational along with many other amazing traits. Her laugh is infectious. Sh has a big heart. Last week she was vacationing in Hawaii (lucky) and she emailed to see if I wanted any western treats bringing back.

You know that yellow light us zaadsters have around our pics when we are online, well Keiko permanantly has a yellow light round her. She glows positivity and love.

If only there were more people like her.
